St Peters Preschool has been operating in the South Tamworth area since 1969 and has continued to operate in the original church buildings at 34 Vera Street, South Tamworth.

The Preschool was the idea of Rev. Peter Smart, who established the Preschool as a Christian outreach of the church. On May 14th 1987, the present Preschool building extensions at St Peters Church were officially opened and this is where the Preschool operates to this day.

There have been many past parents bringing their own children back to attend the Preschool, as they have fond memories of their time here as children. This indicates the important local history and valuable contribution that St Peters Preschool has made in providing consistent, quality early childhood education to the South Tamworth area and the entire Tamworth Regional Council area.
